Naturland and Naturland FAIR
Naturland is the largest international organic association. The Naturland standards go beyond the requirements of the EU Organic Farming Regulation in many areas Naturland stands for a holistic ecological and social approach.
Naturland stands for the highest standards in organic farming. The Naturland standards go far beyond the legal requirements of the EU Organic Farming Regulation in order to promote sustainable and environmentally friendly agriculture. Naturland FAIR supplements these ecological principles with the ideals of fair trade. This means that not only the environment, but also the people involved in production are treated fairly. Since 2010, Naturland producers and processors have been able to be certified as organic and fair.
The little 1×1 of Naturland terms
What can be called organic or ecological in Europe is clearly regulated by law. Organic food may only be called organic if it has been produced at least in accordance with the rules of the EU Organic Regulation. The rules include, for example, controlled organic cultivation, no genetic engineering and no use of synthetic chemical pesticides and artificial fertilizers. The products are labeled with the well-known organic seal. The Naturland guidelines are based on the EU Organic Farming Regulation, but go far beyond this in many respects.
